ADVOCATING FOR THE ARTS

Anyone can be a champion of arts education! No prior experience in advocacy required; start by checking out the resources from us and our partners below. There are local, state, and national organizations dedicated to equipping community members with the advocacy tools they need.

Arts Ed Newark Hosts ALI Parent Power Hour on Arts Education Advocacy

In this 90-minute session with the Abbot Leadership Institute, we presented the value of arts education, NJ Arts Education requirements, showed practical examples of advocacy by parents and community members, and shared advocacy tools and resources that can be implemented by parents, grandparents, high school students, concerned citizens, politicians and other members of the community looking to be change agents to increase high-quality arts education opportunities for Newark youth.

Check out the slide deck from the presentation here.
